What she said

and the various emotions behind

"What's so bad about jealousy? You're only trying to accept the darkness in your heart. Do you know how easy it is to see your own weakness as the fault of another?"

- Rangiku to Orihime Inoue, ch.199 (manga)

This is one of my favorite lines from the entire series, fully speaking of Rangiku's character as a caring older sister and a strong, mature woman. While Orihime's cute little worry might sound somewhat insignificant to most, Rangiku was all for sympathy and did a beautiful job soothing the young girl by saying what Orihime, or anyone under such circumstance, would want to hear.

It's also interesting to note that a large part of Rangiku's speech was directed at her own life situation at the moment. She's just been hit by the sudden betrayal of a family and was naturally touched by Orihime's reference - "I am far from what he considers the most important." Yet at the same time, Rangiku is optimistic and decisive to keep up with her cool image. It's clear that she was ready to face her problem instead of running away, and there was still a sign of hope in her tone that "We've still got something else to protect."
